Good Job Bibi
Good Job, Bibi!
This is the full speech delivered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Bar Ian University, June 14, 2009. Journalists and pundits raved about this being a first for Bibi, actually saying he would agree to a Palestinian state. (See my comments after the video.)
Thank you to WEJEW.COM for this video.
When I saw reports that Netanyahu had said “two states” in his speech at Bar Ilan, I thought the worst – he had capitulated to pressures. But when I watched this video, I saw something completely different. On the one hand, Bibi was calling everyone’s bluff. They want a state? They have to show their peaceful intentions. We have nothing more to concede.”
On the other hand his vision of a peaceful coexistence is a worthy one. IF the Palestinians decide to call his bluff – if they suddenly recognize Israel and start to talk in peaceful terms, we could have a good thing here. And as there is already a large Palestinian population that Israel has no intention of imposing its ways on, maybe they should govern themselves. And they can benefit by working in cooperation with Israel, not against it.
